This type of herbal medicine
chest was used during the
Korean dynasty from the late
14th century, where emperors
ruled Korea. Their pharmacists
and doctors used many different
herbs to make medicine for the
King - hence the many drawers.
The chest is made with a mixture of Elm (Zelkova or Mountain Ash) Wood & Pine Wood, the most commonly used wood species in Korea.
